Teaching Philosophy
I believe music lessons should create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable learning, growing, and expressing themselves creatively. Every student learns differently, so I strive to adapt my teaching approach to fit each individual’s goals, personality, and learning style. Whether a student is preparing for performances, studying classical repertoire, or simply learning piano for enjoyment, I aim to help them build confidence while developing strong musical foundations.
In my lessons, I focus on technique, musicality, theory, sight reading, and healthy practice habits while also encouraging creativity and curiosity. I want students to understand music beyond simply playing notes on the page. Building listening skills, expression, and critical thinking allows students to become more independent and confident musicians over time.
I also value creating a supportive relationship with both students and families. Communication, patience, and consistency are important parts of the learning process, and I strive to make lessons both structured and enjoyable. My goal as a teacher is not only to help students improve musically, but also to help them develop discipline, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
