Teaching Philosophy
As a teacher, Kevin believes that music should be both enjoyable and challenging. His lessons are designed to balance fun, creativity, and discipline while helping students develop strong technical skills and musical understanding. Whether a student is learning their first notes or working toward more advanced goals, Kevin strives to create a supportive environment where students can grow in confidence and experience the joy of making music.
Kevin believes that music is for everyone and that every student can succeed when given encouragement, guidance, and opportunities to learn. His goal is not only to develop capable pianists but also to foster a lifelong appreciation for music.
Biography
Kevin López is a certified music educator and piano instructor dedicated to helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree with EC–12 Teacher Certification from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and has experience teaching both private and group piano lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
Kevin’s musical background includes formal piano study under Dr. Shao Shan Chen at Del Mar College and Dr. Mulić at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. In addition to his private teaching experience, he currently serves as a Fine Arts Teacher, where he provides music instruction to more than 700 elementary students and teaches class piano as part of a comprehensive fine arts program.
