Teaching Philosophy

As a concert pianist, collaborative artist, and KAWAI Artist, my teaching philosophy is centered on developing well-rounded, expressive musicians who combine technical command with deep musical insight. With over a decade of experience teaching students at all levels – from early advanced to conservatory-bound – I focus on cultivating both artistic identity and professional discipline.

My teaching blends tradition with innovation, shaped by my work on international stages and in academic settings. I aim to help each student:

  • Build a solid technical foundation, grounded in natural mechanics, tonal control, and stylistic versatility
  • Understand the historical and theoretical context of repertoire to inform meaningful interpretation
  • Master the skills of collaboration, including communication, adaptability, and leadership in ensemble settings
  • Develop psychological resillience – preparing for auditions, competitions, and performances with poise and confidence
  • Embrace creative exploration, using improvisation, transcription, and digital tools to expand their artistic voice

Several of my students have gone to win national and international competitions, secure admission to leading music schools, and launch professional careers. I take pride in nurturing each student’s potential, not just as a pianist, but as a complete artist prepared for today’s dynamic musical landscape.

Teaching, to me, is a form of artistry itself – a balance of mentorship, expertise, and inspiration. Whether in a conservatory, masterclass, or private studio, I remain committed to excellence, integrity, and the transformative power of music.
