Teaching Philosophy

As a musician and a teacher, I believe we are all connected through music. As a teacher, I expect my students to always come focused and ready to learn.Teaching has always been an initiative to a student’s growth in life. My teaching philosophy is that my teaching has the ability to engage any learner by using a language we all by heart know, music. It’s amazing seeing when a student is completely new in the music world with new thoughts about it. Not only do I help with techniques but I can teach discipline, performance etiquette and boost up their confidence.I believe I am capable of giving techniques that will help them understand more their instrument or even music theory that will help them learn multi-instruments if wanted. My teaching philosophy is that my teaching is fun and can connect with students. I believe my lessons can be engaging and helpful at the same time. I am a kind and compassionate teacher that wants to know more about their students whether it is through music or by conversations. I trust my students are capable of having goals and learning from any hardships in life and to be proud of what they can accomplish daily whether it’s in their life or educationally.

Biography

Carolina was born in Laredo, Texas in a family where music was always around. Carolina Loera started her music journey at age ten. At age ten, she was able to learn how to play violin and since then she knew she wanted to pursue a music career. At age 15, she had the opportunity to learn piano for four years where she was able to perform a senior piano recital. In the year 2017, Carolina applied to study at Texas A & M International University and pursued violin as her main instrument. During her college years, she was able to perform with the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra, help middle school orchestras as a volunteer, work as a private instructor for private lessons, and was able to play in gigs of quintets, and even Mariachi gigs. In 2021, Carolina graduated with a Bachelors in Music Performance and continued her studies by applying to an education alternative program. At age 23, She worked with the United ISD where she was an Orchestra Assistant Director. Being a teacher at a school has helped Carolina develop more skills in a school set-up, being an educator and a great lead for the students. She has created so many student connections and the ability to teach in a great structure. At this moment of her life, Carolina is in San Antonio, Texas trying to make more opportunities to help students create music.
